The application of Metacognitive Strategies In English Listening Learning
Abstract
Listening is one of the main communicating methods in peoples daily life. According to the research of linguists, during the process of peoples using languages to communicate with others, the percentages of listening, speaking, reading and writing are 45 % ,30 % ,16% ,and 9 % respectively. It is obvious that listening occupies an important position in foreign languages teaching and learning. Metacognitive strategies are important ways in English listening learning. It means people regard their own cognitive system as cognitive target to realize and regulate the cognitive process. It has two aspects about Cognition of the cognitive,regulation and control of cognition. Results of the research show that metacognitive strategy-based training is helpful for students in arousing their awareness of using strategy in English learning, improving their listening competence and achievements in listening tests, bringing about more positive emotional experience, such as enthusiasm, clear motives, self-confidence, and so on.

摘 要
聽力是人們日常生活中用在交流上1種主要方法。根據語言學家的調查研究,人們在使用語言交流時,聽、說、讀、寫各占的百分比分別是45%、30%、16%、9%。由此可見聽力在外語教學中的重要地位。元認知策略就是英語聽力學習的重要方法。元認知策略是指人們把關注自我的認知系統作為認知目標,體會和調節自我的認知過程。它包括認知過程的認知和認知的監控調節兩個方面。研究表明元認知策略培訓有助于增強學生聽力學習的策略使用意識,有助于提高初中生英語聽力學習能力和測試成績,對不同性別、不同水平學生的聽力學習能力有不同程度的積極影響,并能夠增強初中生英語聽力學習的情感體驗,激發聽力學習的熱情,明確聽力學習動機,增強聽力學習的自信心。
