The Function of Reading Aloud in English Learning
Abstract
Reading aloud is a traditional method of English language learning. It refers to expressing the emotional thoughts in the linguistic materials by using some reading skills such as stress, rhythm, and tone. It means reading out the words, sentence or passage loud and clear. This thesis deals with the function of reading aloud in English learning. It mainly introduces the function of reading aloud from three aspects: the definition of reading aloud; some reasons, sorts and tips for improving reading aloud; and the relationship between reading aloud and four basic English skills, i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing. The main aim of this thesis is to discuss how reading aloud plays the important role in English learning.
Reading aloud has a factor of reading, so it plays a pivotal role in learning English well. By discussing the role of reading aloud, this thesis argues that reading aloud not only can help in fostering the sense of language and intensifying memory, but also triggering and improving the creative thinking. If students have a better ability of reading aloud, they would understand the word, sentence and passage more quickly and directly, later, they would turn all of these to their own knowledge.

摘 要
朗讀是學(xué)習(xí)英語語言的傳統(tǒng)方法,它是指運(yùn)用重音、節(jié)奏、語調(diào)等語音手段把語言材料中的思想感情表達(dá)出來，即清晰響亮地將詞匯、句子、文章等語言文字材料念出來。本文主要討論了朗讀在英語學(xué)習(xí)中的作用。文章分別從3方面介紹了朗讀在英語學(xué)習(xí)中的作用：朗讀的定義；搞好朗讀的原因、種類和技巧；朗讀與4種英語基本技能，即與聽、說、讀、寫間的關(guān)系。本文主要目的是討論如何使朗讀在英語學(xué)習(xí)中發(fā)揮重要作用。
朗讀具有讀的因素，因此它在學(xué)好英語中起到了樞紐作用。因為朗讀非但能培養(yǎng)語感和加強(qiáng)記憶,還可用以激發(fā)和提高思維能力。學(xué)生如果有較好的朗讀能力，就會更快更直接地理解詞意，句子和文章，之后，逐漸使之轉(zhuǎn)化為自己的知識。
