　　I speak tonight for the dignity of man and the destiny of democracy. I urge every member of both parties, Americans of all religions and of all colors, from every section of this country, to join me in that cause. At times history and fate meet at a single time in a single place to shape a turning point in man's unending search for freedom. So it was at Lexington and Concord. So it was a century ago at Appomattox. So it was last week in Selma, Alabama. There, long-suffering men and women peacefully protested the denial of their rights as Americans. Many were brutally assaulted. One good man, a man of God, was killed. There is no cause for pride in what has happened in Selma. There is no cause for self-satisfaction in the long denial of equal rights of millions of Americans. But there is cause for hope and for faith in our democracy in what is happening here tonight. For the cries of pain and the hymns and protests of oppressed people have summoned into convocation all the majesty of this great government -- the government of the greatest nation on earth. Our mission is at once the oldest and the most basic of this country: to right wrong, to do justice, to serve man. In our time we have come to live with the moments of great crisis. Our lives have been marked with debate about great issues -- issues of war and peace, issues of prosperity and depression. But rarely in any time does an issue lay bare the secret heart of America itself. Rarely are we met with a challenge, not to our growth or abundance, or our welfare or our security, but rather to the values, and the purposes, and the meaning of our beloved nation. The issue of equal rights for American Negroes is such an issue. And should we defeat every enemy, and should we double our wealth and conquer the stars, and still be unequal to this issue, then we will have failed as a people and as a nation. For with a country as with a person, "What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" There is no Negro problem. There is no Southern problem. There is no Northern problem. There is only an American problem. And we are met here tonight as Americans -- not as Democrats or Republicans. We are met here as Americans to solve that problem. This was the first nation in the history of the world to be founded with a purpose. The great phrases of that purpose still sound in every American heart, North and South: "All men are created equal," "government by consent of the governed," "give me liberty or give me death." Well, those are not just clever words, or those are not just empty theories. In their name Americans have fought and died for two centuries, and tonight around the world they stand there as guardians of our liberty, risking their lives. Those words are a promise to every citizen that he shall share in the dignity of man. This dignity cannot be found in a man's possessions; it cannot be found in his power, or in his position. It really rests on his right to be treated as a man equal in opportunity to all others. It says that he shall share in freedom, he shall choose his leaders, educate his children, provide for his family according to his ability and his merits as a human being. To apply any other test -- to deny a man his hopes because of his color, or race, or his religion, or the place of his birth is not only to do injustice, it is to deny America and to dishonor the dead who gave their lives for American freedom. Our fathers believed that if this noble view of the rights of man was to flourish, it must be rooted in democracy. The most basic right of all was the right to choose your own leaders. The history of this country, in large measure, is the history of the expansion of that right to all of our people. Many of the issues of civil rights are very complex and most difficult. But about this there can and should be no argument. Every American citizen must have an equal right to vote. There is no reason which can excuse the denial of that right. There is no duty which weighs more heavily on us than the duty we have to ensure that right.

　　英語是一門語言的研究過程，要體現(xiàn)聽說讀寫的過程�！缎抡n標(biāo)》要求把時(shí)間讓給學(xué)生，要求采取“以學(xué)生為主，教師為輔”的教學(xué)手段。我們很多時(shí)候是做不到的。農(nóng)村的教學(xué)設(shè)施簡陋，學(xué)生素質(zhì)較低，這讓我們的英語教學(xué)遇到很大的困難，如何提高英語教學(xué)成績我們的一些做法是：

　　1、聽和讀：

　　從初一開始，我就請求學(xué)生買磁帶或是從研究機(jī)上下載相應(yīng)的聽力材料。每天至少聽15分鐘，邊聽邊跟讀，這樣大部分的單詞基本上都市讀了。在初一第一學(xué)期，我就教了音標(biāo)，一些學(xué)生能運(yùn)用音標(biāo)來讀單詞，不會讀的跟磁帶學(xué)，還有再不會的，我會讓科代表在早自或是下午自的時(shí)候教讀。這樣就能節(jié)約工夫，使課堂有更多的工夫進(jìn)行情境交際了。重要的`句子對話請求學(xué)生能背。還有就是值日生敷陳。內(nèi)容包括：天氣，學(xué)生出勤，上一節(jié)課或近期所學(xué)的重要句子。我是從七年級放學(xué)期開始進(jìn)行，安排學(xué)生按位置進(jìn)行，值日生把星期幾和當(dāng)天的天氣情況寫在黑板的角落里，并在上課時(shí)做值日生敷陳，這樣能使每位學(xué)生都有機(jī)會發(fā)言，并且能迫使較差的學(xué)生去訊問、去準(zhǔn)備。有的成績差的學(xué)生還把發(fā)言寫在本子上，這種做法目的既磨煉了學(xué)生的膽量和培養(yǎng)學(xué)生啟齒說英語的能力。同時(shí)也磨煉了學(xué)生的寫作能力。到九年級卒業(yè)，學(xué)生已經(jīng)能夠表達(dá)很多的內(nèi)容，口語能力也得到一定的提高。

　　2、記和寫：由于在第一期我就教了音標(biāo)，學(xué)生可以根據(jù)音標(biāo)來記單詞，這樣記憶相對就輕松了些，還有就是多聽寫。每一個(gè)單元我會聽寫一次，講完一個(gè)模塊我再聽寫或是默寫一遍。短語和句子就是這樣進(jìn)行。對于不能完成任務(wù)的學(xué)生，課后再到組長那兒完成。期末復(fù)的時(shí)候再把一本書的知識從新過一遍，所有的單詞短語句子再重新聽寫或默寫一遍，加強(qiáng)學(xué)生的記憶。至于寫作，我是從第一期就開始的，學(xué)生每周寫一篇作文，每個(gè)學(xué)生親自拿到我面前修改，錯(cuò)誤的地方及時(shí)講解這樣學(xué)生印象比較深刻。即使有時(shí)忙，沒有一個(gè)個(gè)修改，學(xué)生寫了也是有進(jìn)步的。這樣慢慢的學(xué)生就不再懼怕寫作了。

　　學(xué)生的坐位，我是采取優(yōu)差配，這樣成績差的學(xué)生能及時(shí)的問問題，每個(gè)學(xué)生有競爭對手，測試沒考過對手的要多做作業(yè)。這樣學(xué)生沒考上對手后就會下功夫，老考不過會覺得面子上過不去。這樣就能在班上形成一種良好的競爭研究意識。

　　臨近中考，大家都將進(jìn)入總復(fù)，我的做法是既要面向全體，又要突出優(yōu)生，二者相輔相成。在堅(jiān)持面向全體學(xué)生的同時(shí)，更要注重對優(yōu)生的培養(yǎng)。2、素質(zhì)教育的主陣地在課堂，優(yōu)生培養(yǎng)的主陣地也在課堂。為了避免復(fù)課的枯燥無味，課堂我輔以一些小游戲、小競賽等來活躍課堂氣氛，激發(fā)研究興趣，調(diào)動全體學(xué)生的研究積極性。比如在知識梳理的復(fù)課上先引導(dǎo)學(xué)生歸納要點(diǎn)，展開討論；對同學(xué)們提出的疑難問題，首先讓學(xué)生給以解答，培養(yǎng)尖子生；具有代表性的難點(diǎn)，教師給以詳細(xì)指導(dǎo)。這樣既調(diào)動了優(yōu)生的積極性又促進(jìn)了基礎(chǔ)較差的學(xué)生，課堂上也就會出現(xiàn)復(fù)課難有的活躍氣氛。結(jié)合中考英語復(fù)的需要，我們具體進(jìn)行五輪復(fù)。

　　第一輪：知識網(wǎng)絡(luò)。針對學(xué)生對已學(xué)基礎(chǔ)知識已遺忘的共性，本著“依鋼靠本”和“溫故知新”的原則，要求學(xué)生一步一個(gè)腳印，使學(xué)生從零散知識自然過渡到知識的系統(tǒng)歸納上，使基礎(chǔ)知識更加條理化，對語單詞短語句子再重新聽寫或默寫一次。每復(fù)一冊進(jìn)行一次階段檢測。

　　第二輪：專項(xiàng)練。專練訓(xùn)練分為兩類：語法專項(xiàng)與題型專項(xiàng)。按照語法進(jìn)行分類復(fù)時(shí)，立足于知識與能力的橫向聯(lián)系，注重學(xué)生應(yīng)用遷移能力和實(shí)戰(zhàn)應(yīng)考能力的提升。

　　第三輪：《中考指南》。對《中考指南》每一部分練都進(jìn)行精講精練，其中聽力、完形填空與閱讀理解穿插進(jìn)行。本輪尤其突出閱讀訓(xùn)練，我們精心準(zhǔn)備了10套閱讀訓(xùn)練練，每套練包括2篇完形填空和4閱讀理解，用于課內(nèi)限時(shí)訓(xùn)練或課后自測，提高學(xué)生的閱讀能力，以更好地適應(yīng)中考。

　　第四輪：集中進(jìn)行模擬磨煉。針對磨煉中呈現(xiàn)的失分點(diǎn)，再進(jìn)行反復(fù)深入的講解。

　　第五輪：回歸與提高。在考前10天里，我們會一步指導(dǎo)學(xué)生自主鞏固知識，查漏補(bǔ)缺，突出學(xué)生主體，突出考試重點(diǎn)。同時(shí)突出和強(qiáng)化書面表達(dá)訓(xùn)練，并命題10篇作文，一天一篇進(jìn)行當(dāng)堂訓(xùn)練，學(xué)生互改與教師抽改相結(jié)合，并做好講評與指導(dǎo)，提高學(xué)生的寫作能力。

　　我們還將對學(xué)生進(jìn)行答題規(guī)范性磨煉，培養(yǎng)答題技巧，提高臨場應(yīng)戰(zhàn)能力，并針對具體本性不同的學(xué)生，給予不同的心理輔導(dǎo)，破除他們的緊張心理。

　　throughout my years of being a student, i’ve had many teachers. none of them are the same, but the one that i’ll never forget and will always miss is my chinese bilingual teacher in the middle school i attended in seattle, ms. ho. she was a skinny, but stylish lady in her 50s. she was different from all the other teachers because she gave me something unforgettable.

　　ms. ho and i became friends right in the first semester i was in that middle school. at the same time, i was having a really hard time with my subjects. since i had just transferred from a bilingual school, where i had stayed for two months after arriving in the us, my english was horrible; my average grade was below c. i almost thought it impossible to learn english. then, one day she told me she strongly believed that i was capable of controlling my life, and i would be just fine. she said that she found we were much alike: both were stubborn, kind-hearted and a little bit simple-minded. she believed that i had the quality of becoming wise. she even said that she didn’t have any worries about me, about my not learning english. with her encouragement, i found the strength within myself and began to desire to work even harder. as a result, i soon proved her right, and at the end of the semester, i got a 3.8 average grade.

　　today, i still keep in touch with her, and she still tells me how she believes in me. sometimes, i’d think back, and wonder how i could handle all those things if it wasn’t for her encouragement and trust. could i be the person i am today? then, it struck me: what we need has always been trust and love of others; because these things inspire us to do our best, and to live our life to its fullest.

It happened in italy four centuries b.c. A young man named pi sia was sentenced to death, because of having offended the tyrant. pi sia was a filial son,and he asked to see his old mother before death. The king promised him, but set down the condition that he must find another person to be in prison instead of him. The condition was so critical that it was almost impossible to be realized. But pi sia did find such a man, who was his friend named dameng. Then pi sia went home to bid farewell with mother as he wished. Days passed quickly, and the term of imprisonment was near at hand, but pi sia had not turned back yet.

　　Most people ascertained that pi sia had deceived his friend. It was a rainy day when demeng was sent to the execution ground, all persons watching around laughed at him, but demeng himself was not worried at all. The rope was hanging on his neck, and just at the critical moment, one person ran quickly through the rain shouting loudly,"please wait, I'm coming!" it was pi sia who turned back in time. This was the most moving curtain in the world. demeng took no care of himself in order to help his friend realize the duty, whose kind of spirit was moved one to tears. While pi sia did not hesitate to take life as the price for performing the promise, whose kind of courage was also rare to meet.

　　My dear friends, do you know why demeng was so calm before death? the reason was that he believed his friend pi sia would not do such despicable thing as deceiving friends.
