1. Relevant words in context. 與上下文情境相聯系的詞匯
Students will need to/考生需要做到：Interpret meaning based on context 根據上下文理解意思;Master relevant vocabulary 掌握相關詞匯;Engage in close reading 進行精細深度閱讀。
2. Command of evidence. 掌握證據
Students will be asked to/考生將被要求：Interpret, synthesize, anduse evidence found in a wide range of sources 理解、綜合、使用在不同出處找到的'證據;Support the answers they choose 證明他們選擇的答案;Integrate information conveyed through both reading passages and informational graphics 結合閱讀段落和信息圖像。
3. Essay analyzing a source. 寫作分析源
The redesigned essay will/改變后的寫作：More closely mirror college writing assignments 更接近大學的寫作要求;Cultivate close reading,careful analysis, and clear writing 培養細致閱讀、分析和清楚的寫作;Promote the practice of reading a wide variety of arguments and analyzing an author’s work 促進聯系閱讀廣泛的論點并分析作者的觀點。
4. Math focused on three key areas. 數學集中在三個關鍵領域
Current research shows that three key areas most contribute to readiness for college and career training/當前的研究表示有三個主要領域對升學和就業最為關鍵：Problem Solving and Data Analysis (quantitative literacy) 解決問題和數據分析(數據能力);Heart of Algebra (mastery of linear equations) 代數的中心(掌握線性方程);Passport to Advanced Math(familiarity with more complex equations) 通往高等數學(熟悉更復雜的方程式)。
5. Problems grounded in real-world contexts. 扎根于現實世界情境的問題
Students will engage with questions that/考生將要解決的問題：Directly relate to the work performed in college and career 直接與大學和實際工作相關;Include charts, graphs, and passages likely to be encountered in science, social science, and other major sand careers 包含在自然科學、社會科學和其它專業及職業中會出現的表格、圖形、文字;Feature multistep applications to solve problems in science, social science, career scenarios,and other real-life contexts 如自然科學、社會科學、工作和生活的真實情況一樣展開多個步驟去解決問題。
6. Analysis in science and social studies. 對于科學和社會研究的分析
Students will apply their reading, writing, language, and math skills to answer questions in science,history, and social studies contexts./考生將要運用他們的閱讀、寫作、語言及數學能力一起去回答在自然科學、歷史和社會科學等各方面的問題。
7. Founding documents and great globalconversation. 重要歷史文獻和世界時事討論
