B： barbecue 來源于海地語，最初是指由樹樁制成的木制平臺，是人們當床用的 。而barbecue 最早出現在英語之中有“床”和“燒烤架”兩種意思，到了18世紀才發展成今天的“烤肉,燒烤”之意。大家是不是越聽越有食欲了呢?好了，選擇一個風和日麗的周末和你的mom and dad 一起去barbecue 吧!

B：接下來我們要跟同學們介紹一個俚語。不知道同學們還記不記得我們上期節目中說到的一個luck dog。

B：今天我們要介紹另一種動物，sheep，綿羊。
A：當我們把顏色 black 黑色 和 sheep 綿羊放在一起使用時，意思可就完全不一樣了哦。
Sheep 綿羊是性情溫順的動物，通常用來比喻善良，純潔的人。一群綿羊中有時會夾雜一只長黑毛的綿羊，因為黑綿羊不如白綿羊值錢，所以black sheep 就比喻為無用之輩，大家明白了嗎?black sheep 指人時是“無用之輩”的意思哦，大家一定要記住，千萬不要鬧出笑話了。
A：今天說到sheep綿羊，我們再說說其它動物吧，說起魚(fish)你們一定嘴巴有點兒饞了吧!可要小心喲，并不是所有的“fish”魚都能吃的。
B：不信 !那今天我們就來說說不能吃的fish.提起fish，它給人們的第一印象便是指“魚”，A：但在英語口語里，fish還常常被用來指“人”，類似于漢語里的“家伙、東西”等。

A：愚人節的受愚弄者
B：cool fish
A：冷靜而大膽的家伙或臉皮厚的人

B：在以上例子中必須注意的是，fish用來指人時形象雖然鮮明，但往往含有貶義。

B：我國素稱禮儀之邦，其重視禮節程度不亞于歐美任何一國。但是由于中西風俗習慣有很大的差異，如果我們對此不了解，在與英美人進行交往時，就會引起對方的誤會，發生不必要的誤解。這里我僅把英美人在問候、告辭和稱呼上的禮節習慣介紹給大家，以便有助于大家的英語學習和同外國朋友的交往。

我們中國人見面打招呼時習慣說：您吃過了嗎?(Have you eaten? / Have you had your meal?)或者說：您上哪去?(Where are you going? )。而英美人見面時如果是上午則說：Good morning. 如果是在下午則說：Good afternoon, 在傍晚就說：Good evening. 如果與熟人打招呼則說：How are you? 如果是與較熟的人或朋友打招呼則說：Hello, 或Hi. 如果用我們中國人見面打招呼時常說的'"Have you eaten?"去問候英美人，就會引起對方的誤解，因為"Have you eaten?"在英語里不是打招呼用語，而是"邀請對方去吃飯"。如果見到英美人時說："Where are you going?"他們會很不高興。因為"Where are you going?"對英美人來說則是"即干涉別人的私事。"
