Paris is the capital of France. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. With its world-famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, and its wide, tree-lined streets, Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
巴黎是法國的首都。這是世界上最為著名的旅游景點之一。擁有埃菲爾鐵塔和凱旋門這樣馳名于世的地標(biāo)性建筑，以及綠樹成蔭的寬闊街道，巴黎不愧是世界上最美麗的城市之一。
If you are taking your children with you, remember that Euro Disney is just an hour away from the centre of Paris, It offers many of the same attractions as the Disney parks in the USA.
如果你帶著孩子出游，記住歐洲迪斯尼樂園據(jù)巴黎市中心也只有一個小時的車程。如同美國迪斯尼樂園一般，它有著很多一樣的`游樂項目。
If you want to go on to visit Britain, you can now do it without flying or taking a ferry. The Channel Tunnel enables you to travel by train from Paris to London in about three hours.
如果你想去英國，你甚至不用飛行或者搭乘輪渡。從巴黎坐火車穿越英吉利海峽隧道，三小時左右就能抵達(dá)倫敦。
The centre of France is a big, agricultural region, growing crops such as wheat and sunflowers, and there are many vineyards. Farmers grow grapes there to make excellent wine. One of the most scenic areas is the Loire Valley, where you can visit the old castles in which the kings and queens of France used to live.
法國中部是大片的農(nóng)業(yè)區(qū)，那里種植小麥和向日葵之類的農(nóng)作物，還有很多葡萄園。盧瓦爾河山谷是風(fēng)景最美的地方之一，在那里可以游覽法國國王和王后曾經(jīng)居住過的城堡。
France, like China, is famous for its food. In our city, we can see the influence of France in some ways. Some bakeries provide French bread and cakes. Other popular French products are cheese and wine.
和中國一樣，法國也因食物而知名。我們城市中也可以看到在某些方面受到法國的影響。一些面包店提供面包和蛋糕，其他受歡迎的食品包括法國奶酪和葡萄酒。
France is a leader in art and culture too. A lot of young students from different countries go to France to further their studies. Every year, French film festivals, exhibitions and concerts are organized throughout the world.
法國同樣是文化藝術(shù)的領(lǐng)頭羊。很多來自不同國家的青年學(xué)生去法國深造。 每一年，法國電影節(jié)、各種展覽個音樂會都會在世界范圍內(nèi)展開。

文章標(biāo)題中的call意為“召喚;呼喚”。
2. Now that winter is behind us, many people are starting to think about going abroad for the summer holidays.
由于冬天已經(jīng)過去，很多人都開始考慮暑假出國旅游的事了。
now that相當(dāng)于since，用于引導(dǎo)原因狀語從句。
注意abroad拼寫上與aboard的區(qū)別。試比較：go abroad(出國)，go aboard(上車;上船;上飛機)。
3. This gear，why not spread your wings and visit France?
今年，為何不遠(yuǎn)行去法國看看呢?
why not常常用于提出建議，后直接跟動詞原形。如：
--Why not have a barbecue this weekend? 這個周末為何不去燒烤呢?
--That's a good idea. 真是個好主意!
句中的spread your wings意為“展開翅膀”，、是擬物的用法，spread意為“展開”。此外，在6A Unit 9曾學(xué)過to spread on the bread，spread意為“抹”。
