        By serving as a noncommissioned officer in theUnited StatesMarine Corps, I learned and developed valuable leadership skills that would prove crucial to my success as a leader and to my ability to gain the respect of my subordinates. The Marine Corps places great emphasis on leadership characteristics, believing that great leaders are not born, they are properly trained. I submitted to grueling training on my way to becoming an officer in the Marines, and believe this training gives me the foundation of strong leadership skills that I will need in every day corporateAmerica.

        Leadership in the Marine Corps is more complicated than the simple management of employees. I learned this lesson the hard way, being thrust into a management position as my unit was being shipped over seas during the Persian Gulf War. As a newly promoted Corporal, I was given the job of night crew supervisor in charge of 15 other marines. In the Marine Corps, leaders are not only held accountable for the work getting done but also for the performance and conduct of their marines. At the age of 21,I had the responsibility not only to carry out my orders but also to safeguard the personal lives and protect the general welfare of my men. This being my second time over seas, I understood many of the difficulties that a young marine can have on their first extended trip away from their family. I enjoyed helping my marines over come their problems, and learned that the benefits were well worth the time that I invested. I discovered that employees who have the support of their management tend to be more focused on the tasks at hand, gaining levels of trust and loyalty that can only benefit the organization.

        Related to this issue of gaining trust and loyalty through management supportiveness is that the Marine Corps requires creative means to motivate subordinates. It can be very difficult at times to be in charge of individuals, yet have no direct control over their salaries or advancement in the organization. The government decides military salaries, and promotions are controlled by boards with the primary means of measurement being time in service. For this reason, I learned to manage through mutual respect. I believe it is much more important to gain the trust and confidence of your employees than to use direct compensation to motivate them.

        Throughout my Marine Corps career and beyond I developed many strong leadership skills, but most of all I learned that to be effective as a manager one must remain focused on the human aspect of leadership. By concentrating too much on the goal and not on the people needed to meet it, leaders risk alienating their employees and thus failure in achieving the goal itself. By leveraging the lessons and qualities I gained while serving as an officer in the Marine Corps, I hope to meaningfully contribute to the academic environment at the Anderson School of Business.

        Veterinary Background

        Changing the bandage on an angry bulldog’s paw or trimming the hooves of a 2000-pound draft horse can be an intimidating venture. Curing animals requires compassion, precision, and confidence; it is also an excellent way to learn about practicing medicine and to feel the satisfaction of helping someone in need. Due to my rural background, knowledge of animals, and love of science, I began working for a local veterinarian at a young age. Later in life, when I decided to become a physician, I saw that my veterinary experiences had prepared me well for a career in health care.

        When I started volunteering in an emergency room, I learned that humans really aren't so different from other animals -- I needed to show my compassion in order to earn their trust before I could heal or comfort them. When a child or widow brought me their dying pet and pleaded for me to cure it, I had to soothe the person as well as the animal. I used this calm compassion in the emergency room when comforting the family of a father who had just suffered a heart attack, or when talking with a husband frantic about his wife’s car accident. I saw further similarities between human and animal medicine when I shadowed Dr. Harry Williams in his family practice. I saw that his close relationship with his patients led him to keep thinking of them long after his office closed for the day. Likewise, as a veterinary technician, I had often carefully considered how to help each animal. Compassion is truly a prerequisite for any career in health care.

        In my work with animals, I learned that perseverance is key to successful treatment. Interruption of that treatment can lead to disastrous results. In many rural communities near my home, I witnessed the consequences of the absence of consistent medical care. As a farrier, I have worked in many old-order Mennonite communities whose needs aren’t being met: when one client's daughter injured her hand in a corn sheller, she was unable to get medical care because facilities were far away and no doctors could come to their farm. The girl’s hand was infected and not healing well. I did what I could, but I was troubled that I didn’t have the expertise to treat the injury. On my next visit, I saw that her hand had grown deformed. Had she been able to see a physician more frequently, her hand might have healed correctly. Encounters of this kind have revealed to me the consequences of medically underserved communities. I look forward to working toward a solution to this problem when I am a physician.

        A good veterinarian operates with precision. I have applied the careful, exacting skills I learned with animals to my lab work. I am currently involved in research on corneal endothelium with Dr. Carson Kennedy. In the lab, we study mammalian corneal cells; eventually, we would like to describe and prevent ophthalmic diseases such as glaucoma. Through this work, I have honed my scientific skills and sharpened my analytical mind. It is exhilarating to catch a glimpse of valuable knowledge, not yet known by anyone, which has the potential to help many people. It is also very rewarding to know that I have contributed to the advancement of medicine by providing research results that will improve people’s health.

        Perhaps the most important quality required to practice human or animal medicine is confidence. In the lab, in the emergency room, and in the field, I have had many opportunities to observe the importance of confident leadership to a medical practice. Over the years, I have observed that the best veterinarians and physicians handle each issue swiftly and appropriately, delegating tasks to others with self-assurance. In every medical situation, someone must take the lead role while working to manage the team. Leadership roles have always come naturally to me -- I spent twelve years working toward becoming an Eagle Scout and helping my younger brother to do the same. The composure I gained as a troop leader helped me to excel in my role as supervisor at a large walking horse farm. Since then, I have grown into leadership roles that required more significant responsibilities. I am comfortable as a leader because I am confident in my ability to ensure the health and safety of others. The leadership skills I have developed will be a vital part of my work as a physician.

        When I began working as a veterinary technician, I did not fully realize that the skills I gained would be so applicable to my eventual career as a physician. Yet my experiences with animals have provided me with an excellent foundation to continue my studies of human health and well-being.         Life

        When a pod of 55 pilot whales recently beached themselves on a stretch of Cape Cod, vacationers and beach-goers came to the rescue. By high tide, they managed to save 46 whales. In explaining his motivation for jumping in to help, one volunteer simply answered, “Life.” The same purpose inspires my ambition to become a physician.

        Medicine appeals to my deep appreciation for human life, inculcated by studying man as both a human being and biological machine. The decision to practice stems from a perpetual fascination with science combined with this basic love for life. I grew up capturing insects and watching PBS, always questioning the complexities of how the body works. Through academics and medical research, I have begun to answer this question.

        My passion for knowledge of the inner workings of the human body led to proactive involvement in medical research, enriching my view of medicine as well as nurturing the desire to continue research endeavors throughout my medical career. For the past two years, I have studied the relationship between structural damage and preserved clinical function in multiple sclerosis patients through functional MRI, under the tutelage of Drs. Cranston and Mahoney. Although unsure how these two factors correlate, we hypothesize that a critical period exists when the brain undergoes reorganization. In a concurrent study, I am investigating the role of the pelvic veins in cryptogenic stroke, funded through a grant awarded by the American Heart Association. The objective is to determine, via MRV, whether the pelvic veins are the source of thrombolytic emboli in cryptogenic stroke patients who also harbor a patent foramen ovale. The results of these studies not only will contribute to the advancement of medicine, but may also hold therapeutic benefits for those afflicted with such neurological damage.

        The rewards of medical research lie in its practical application, and there is no better place to observe the miracle of life than in the NICU. Each day, newborns struggle to survive, illustrating the inherent advancements and limitations of medicine. I have witnessed preemies, from 24 weeks of gestation and on, live and die. Exposure to patients revealed that people are much more than collections of cells and organs -- we all share the special gift of life. My role in helping to care for them abounded with both challenge and joy.

        My first patient, Baby S, arrived nine weeks prematurely and spent the first month of life in the NICU. Due to the presence of an extrachromosomal fragment, he suffered slight mental retardation. His mother, who had the same condition, visited infrequently during his hospital stay. When she did, her visits were brief and inattentive. I grew quite fond of Baby S, often watching him snuggle into the blankets like a small burrito. Although his sky blue eyes moved in a spastic manner, they gave life to his somewhat immobile body. He rarely showed signs of discomfort, whether hungry or needing a change. I tried to give him the extra attention he lacked. At times, he rewarded my efforts to interact with a smile; other times, he gave me a dirty diaper.

        Reflecting on my experiences, I realize that the practice of medicine entails more than remembering and dispensing scientific facts. It requires exercising both mind and heart, along with a genuine respect for life. Baby S and my other NICU patients instilled in me a sense of how precious life is, and I am certain that my current EMT training and planned medical mission to southeast Asia will reaffirm my conviction to improve the lives of others.

        The career of a physician will allow me to balance an intellectual curiosity with my desire to help those in need. By helping man at his best and his worst, combining a passion for life with the pursuit of scientific knowledge, I can help heal and comfort others. I eagerly anticipate a vocation in which my patients fuel my search for knowledge, and that search embodies reciprocal benefits to my patients.         對醫(yī)學(xué)研究最好的回報(bào)就是能運(yùn)用于實(shí)踐,再也沒有比在NICU更好的地方了,因而在這里總能發(fā)現(xiàn)生命的奇跡。每一天,都有不少的新生嬰兒必須努力掙扎著才得以生存下去,醫(yī)學(xué)既有其進(jìn)步的一面也有其局限性。我曾經(jīng)親眼看到孕育了24周的早產(chǎn)兒,出生然后死亡。也曾經(jīng)向患者解釋道,其實(shí)人類只不過是細(xì)胞和器官的累積——生命是上天賜與我們的一份特別的禮物。作為我來說,在幫助和照顧這些患者的過程中,既充滿了挑戰(zhàn)也得到一種滿足感。

        我的第一個(gè)病人,是個(gè)早產(chǎn)9個(gè)星期來到人間的嬰兒,叫S。他在出生的第一個(gè)月里是在NICU度過的。由于存在染色體的多余片段,他有一些輕微的智力低下。他的母親,和他有同樣的病癥因此很少在S住院期間來看望他。每次母親到來都很短暫和匆忙。而我漸漸開始喜歡上了S,經(jīng)常去看望他,看他在小小的籃子里努力掙扎著。盡管他天藍(lán)色眼睛的轉(zhuǎn)動和一般人不同,上天賜與他生命卻給于他不太靈活的身體。他很少表現(xiàn)出任何的不舒適,比如饑餓或者需要換姿勢。有時(shí)我會給于他更多的照顧,而他會給我一個(gè)微笑作為回報(bào);當(dāng)然,更多的時(shí)候,他給我的是一片臟尿布。

        回顧我所經(jīng)歷的一切,我意識到醫(yī)藥的實(shí)際應(yīng)用不僅僅對科學(xué)原理的熟識以及運(yùn)用,還有對精神上以及內(nèi)心的歷練,以及對生命發(fā)自內(nèi)心的尊重。嬰兒S以及我在NICU的其他病人,讓我漸漸明白了生命是多么的珍貴,而我現(xiàn)在也正在進(jìn)行急診醫(yī)師的實(shí)習(xí),并且,我打算去東南亞的決定也可以證明我想要救助更多人的這份決心。

        英文版:In my opinion, the Financial Engineering is a kind of creative technology to the Financial Instruments, Financial Means and system. It used to balance the benefits and venture as an interesting interdisciplinary subject. It covers many fields such as mathematics, computer science and finance, in which the mathematics and mathematical modeling are the two main aspects of the Financial Engineering. The Investment Portfolio Theory of Markowitz, the capital asset pricing model of the Sharp, Option Pricing Model of Black-Scholes and “Binomial” model of Cox can best reflect the critical position of the two subjects.

        I am glad to choose mathematics and applied mathematics. Three years’ study had deepened my understanding of them, especially of mathematical modeling. (It still occurs to me when I went to attend the class of XX department given by Professor Jiang qiyuan in Tsinghua University for the first time. “1 kilogram of flour added with 1 kilogram of stuffing can make 100 dumplings, but what if the stuffing is more than 1 kilogram?” He used a very simple, vivid and interesting example which aroused my interest and led me into the mathematical modeling world.

        The first time I kissed the mathematical modeling was in the summer vacation of 2005, when I got a good opportunity to attend the mathematical modeling training organized by our school. Seasoned mathematics teachers told me what on earth the mathematical modeling is through some existing examples, in which the one about SARS impressed me most. In 2003, SARS broke out and shrouded rapidly to the whole world, which imperiled our economic development and people’s living. Therefore, study on its spreading regularity and building the mathematical modeling for predicting and controlling its extension had become the “Archimedes Heels” for all mathematicians… So, the Logistic regression has been carved in my memory. Two weeks’ training has presented me with a kind of passion and calm thinking much more than just those classical mathematical models. As the patron saint of our human-beings, the existence of Mathematics and mathematical modeling are maintaining our subsistence and development. Then, when SARS ran riot, when we are suffering from the pain of AIDS, what can I do as a mathematics and mathematical modeling lover who loves life so much?

        Pocketed with this passion and thinking, I tasted to use mathematical modeling into practice and solve the practical problems by attending the National College Mathematical Modeling Contest with the other two schoolmates on behalf of our college. It required us to evaluate the water quality of Changjiang River according to the data, through which we had to analyze the water pollution in every region and predict the trend of it in the future. Finally we had to bring out the plan against it. It was really a challenge for us towards flood of data and estimations as long as 17 pages. We tried almost a whole day only to filter those data and take the evaluations into comprehensive account. Pulling down various models we had built before, we were so defeated that we wanted to give up many times. However, we finally found the satisfactory model thanks to our encouragement to each other which armed us with full strength to go further.We managed to evaluate the water quality by Composite index model, which could not only represent the evaluation factors, but also reflect the main impacts of the contaminations to the water pollution. We predicted the future water pollution through multiple linear regressions fitting and brought out the plan against it by building linear optimization model. Finally, we got the second prize in Beijing for our thesis. Three days’ and nights’ modeling experience had cooled our passion and gave us even more calm thinking instead. The creation of the mathematical modeling, along with the successful solution to the problems through it lied on the solid mathematics foundation, strong modeling ability, accumulation of the knowledge on different fields, unique creative ideas and creativity.

        The experience from this contest further aroused my interest in mathematics. I began to pay more attention to its application as well as learning the theories. In addition, I tried to catch every opportunity to take part in the practical mathematical modeling. My efforts finally rewarded when I was in the first term as a junior. I had a chance to participate in the 3-day electrician mathematical modeling practice-----classifying the sports programs for a big sports meeting. Being familiar with the Graph Theory, I immediately found the way to solve the problems by seeking the best Hamilton circuit line. Facing the nearly 8.7 billion data files with different orders much more than that on the National Mathematical Modeling Contest, I spent a long time on Algorithm without any perfect result. I wasn’t defeated towards this case, but so excited instead that I could have such a chance to challenge and improve myself. Looking up dozens of files, I finally made a perfect end of the practice by using the Genetic Algorithm into full account. It needs both a successful model and an effective arithmetic to solve these problems. , which largely shortened the operation time and improved the operation result. I learnt a lot from this practice. I came to know that to build successful mathematics modeling that can effectively solve the practical problems, we must take the operation cost

        Summarizing my failures in the mathematical modeling electrician practice and proceeding from my interest in this field, I began to think of collaborating on the “Mathematical Modeling Saloon” with several students from mathematics and computer departments, taking the Computer Algorithms and mathematical modeling as the two themes of the book. Every Tuesday afternoon, we would organized those students interested in this field to study and exchange the ideas and arithmetic by imparting experience, sharing what we learnt, pondering together and discussing with each other. Both the traditional transportation & storage problems and the modern Stimulated Annealing Arithmetic (SAA), Ant Algorithm have ever been the topic of our discussion, from which I have learnt many thinking styles and methods to the problems from the students both in mathematics and computer department. So far, I am excited to see that this activity is still in the wind with more and more participants and it aroused a learning upsurge in our college.

        Recommended by my teacher, I have participated in the Teaching Reform Program of Mrs. Xing yongli----the results analysis of “Improving the mathematics teaching quality on class”. Mrs. Xing, along with some other mathematics teachers experienced the class mutual activities in 2004 to 2005 with the character data files in form of paper investigations. For this style of data files, I finally used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a creative challenge instead of the fuzzy mathematical quantitative analysis models, which firstly knocked my mind. By quantitating data and using the AHP, I succeeded in analyzing how the overall quality of the teachers and their teaching skills work in improving the mathematics teaching quality on class, from which we got the conclusion that the teaching skills and the way to put forward questions on class play the most important role in the class mutual activities. Besides, Mrs. Xing collaborated with me on the thesis named “The Application of Analytic Hierarchy Processinto the Evaluation of Class Mutual Activities”. Both of us were satisfied with this thesis and contributed it to many presses to be published.

        Similar with the mathematical modeling, the soul of the Financial Engineering is also the creativity. Therefore, the perfect application of the mathematics and mathematical modeling into the Financial Engineering once more surged my enthusiasm in this field. Furthermore, the Financial Engineering plays the important part in people’s living, social stability and the national development, which is my original intention to choose this field I think.

        電工數(shù)模實(shí)習(xí)結(jié)束后,濃厚的學(xué)習(xí)興趣和電工數(shù)學(xué)實(shí)習(xí)的教訓(xùn)促使我和數(shù)學(xué)系、計(jì)算機(jī)系幾名同學(xué)共同籌劃并創(chuàng)建“數(shù)學(xué)建模沙龍”,將計(jì)算機(jī)算法和數(shù)學(xué)模型共同作為沙龍的主題。每周二下午,我們會組織有興趣的同學(xué)一起,以傳授經(jīng)驗(yàn)、分享心得、共同思考、共同討論的方法學(xué)習(xí)和交流數(shù)學(xué)思想和算法。傳統(tǒng)的運(yùn)輸問題、儲存問題和新興的模擬退火算法、螞蟻算法都曾成為我們的討論話題。通過這個(gè)活動我從數(shù)學(xué)系和計(jì)算機(jī)系的同學(xué)身上分享了更多的知識,他們的思維方式,處理問題的方法!到目前為止這個(gè)活動仍然在進(jìn)行著,參加的人數(shù)也越來越多.帶動了學(xué)校的一個(gè)學(xué)習(xí)熱潮,我為此感到非常的興奮!

        在老師的推薦下,大三暑假,我參加了邢永麗老師的教學(xué)改革項(xiàng)目——“提高數(shù)學(xué)課堂教學(xué)質(zhì)量”的結(jié)果分析。04-05年,邢老師在她和其他幾個(gè)數(shù)學(xué)老師的任課班級上做了課堂互動的教學(xué)實(shí)踐,其數(shù)據(jù)大多以調(diào)查問卷等文字形式出現(xiàn)。此模型的特點(diǎn)讓我馬上聯(lián)想到模糊數(shù)學(xué)定量分析模型,但敢于嘗試新模型的念頭讓我最后選擇了AHP層次分析法。通過量化數(shù)據(jù),應(yīng)用AHP層次分析法定量分析老師的綜合素質(zhì)、授課技巧等因素在師生互動、提高數(shù)學(xué)課堂教學(xué)質(zhì)量中所起的作用,得出教師的授課技巧和課堂問題設(shè)置在課堂互動中所占分量最重的結(jié)論,并和邢老師合作完成《層次分析法在課堂互動教學(xué)效果評價(jià)中的應(yīng)用》論文,邢老師和我對論文都非常滿意,已向多個(gè)期刊投稿并有望發(fā)表。

        和數(shù)學(xué)建模一樣,金融工程的靈魂是創(chuàng)新思維和創(chuàng)造能力,而數(shù)學(xué)和數(shù)學(xué)建模知識在金融工程的應(yīng)用更讓我對這門學(xué)科充滿了興趣;更s重要的是,金融工程技術(shù)能給人們的生活、社會的穩(wěn)定、國家的發(fā)展做出重要貢獻(xiàn),我想這個(gè)也更加符合我學(xué)習(xí)數(shù)學(xué)建模的初衷。

        英文版:I thought much before I began to write the PS. However, holding the pen, I suddenly felt wordless because I have too much to say, too much to write. Standing on the crossroad of life, I determined to study abroad without any hesitations.

        It was not the desire for the life overseas, but the pursuit of my professional study that aroused my idea to study abroad. I was longing for the further study and embedded understanding of the essence of Information Science, tasting its charm. Pocketing this interest, I came into the department of Beijing Forestry University. Through several years’ study there, I gradually realized that the modern information society needed not only the professional talents in information science, but also the embedded researches in this field in order to use it into every enterprise. Meanwhile, it is certain that the information science is just the developing trend in the future, which could historically change the ever familiar life style. Therefore, in the process of learning, I can taste its interest and challenge, with which I can keep abreast with the latest technology. Furthermore, I think it was valuable for me to contribute my youth into the Information Science, the most prospective enterprise in the future.

        My ordinary score on my school report will tell you that I am not good at examinations. Those so-called “examination skills” are also strange to me. Instead, I emphasize the practical operations and the real needs of the society, expecting to learn the knowledge and technology that stands at the top of the period. Therefore, I got the latest knowledge mainly by reading large amount of English books and browsing the websites. Besides, I participated in many practical activities, in which I could use what I have learnt into practice.

        In my sophomore year, just as other schoolmates were submerging themselves into the fairy world of PC games, I began my part time working experience by working as a technician on the website of a small company. Just at that exciting time, I found that it was very difficult to use the theories I learnt on class into the practical work. Trapped in the gap between the school and society, I collected and summarized much practical professional files from a series of websites and learnt the HTML language and the CSS design by myself. From the first attempt in the society, I realized that I got much from difficulties rather than smooth work. On designing the information part of the website, I could not find the perfect combination between the files. However, as a hard-nosed boy, I was not defeated by the difficulties, but very excited towards them. By classifying and summarizing the files I found on the websites, I finally solved the problem.

        Taking advantage of my insistent efforts, I was finally kissed by an opportunity to participate in a developing project, in which I worked as a core assistant of my teacher to develop the Iptables module under Linux. From a theoretical point of view, the development of the module could be included in the basic theories of the operating system. However, it was another challenge for me because I was not familiar with the programming of system module. Finally, I found the related knowledge on a book named “Module Programming”. Thanks to my repeated attempts, times of failures, at last, presented me with the final success. Through this practice, I believe firmly that failure is the access to the success.

        I had a dream when I was just a kid----becoming a member in Chinese Academy of Science, the pioneer of the science and technology in China. My senior year witnessed me to achieve my dream. Under the recommendation of my teacher, I got the opportunity to work with the professors in automation department of CAS on developing the interface based on the biometric authentication technology. Two weeks was a short time, but a harvest time for me. Through the exchange with the experts and professors and looking up large amount of books and related literatures in the library, my understanding on all the specifies BIOAPI interface, the design of the 類 and data structure and the biometric interfaces had largely deepened. Seeing the final success, the sweetest smile in the world blossomed on my face.

        My assiduity in study and careful working attitude won the appreciation of the professors in CAS. Therefore, at the last period of my undergraduate study, I was recommended by them to complete my graduation design by participating in a graduate subject of Chinese Blog Search Engine.

        As the assistant, I completed the access and storage of the Blog data by using C language and Perl database. With the help of my studying fellows, I finally designed a frame of the Blog Search Engine and learn many new technologies.

        After graduation, I accepted the offer of working on Sina website, where I was mainly responsible for the batch installation of operating system, tailor of the software package, the safety configuration, the smooth running of the equipments on line, the test and recovery of various hardware failures. Meanwhile, I was in charge of the immediate response and disposal of the accidents and the exact maintenance of thousands of servers in the whole company.

        As a system engineer in Sina website, there are a lot of things to do in the application process, operating system and network as well as in the hardware. We generally solve the problems by our own practical experience combining with the related professional literatures and the knowledge we have learnt.

        Years of working experience made me realized clearly that it has still a long way to go to achieve my dream---becoming an expert in this field. I have to step out of the “flowers” coating me now for my achievements to the further study for the next station on the way of life. Therefore, I need a nutritious academic atmosphere.

        It was my curiosity that pushed me onto the road of learning new technologies and it was my strong learning ability and capability that presented me with the current achievement. I believe that standing at the cross road of life after a few years further study, I will be more confident and stronger expectative for my future.

        大二的時(shí)候當(dāng)我的同學(xué)還沉浸在網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲的迷幻世界里的時(shí)候,我利用業(yè)余時(shí)間給一家小公司的網(wǎng)站做兼職的技術(shù)員,。可當(dāng)時(shí)從學(xué)校學(xué)到掌握的知識很難用于實(shí)際工作,于是我搜集整理了一系列網(wǎng)站維護(hù)方面的專業(yè)資料。后來通過自學(xué)我掌握了HTML語言和CSS設(shè)計(jì).從這第一次嘗試的經(jīng)歷我獲得了很多的收獲,但我認(rèn)為最大的收獲就是這個(gè)過程中我遇到的難題.在制作網(wǎng)站信息板塊的過程中資料的吻合程度一直無法解決,我的倔強(qiáng)的性格讓我在困難面前越來越興奮.我利用所有可以利用的時(shí)間上網(wǎng)查資料,最終通過細(xì)致的分類和鑒別,將它們有效的整理了出來。

        通過我不懈的努力我在專業(yè)技術(shù)水平得到了老師的認(rèn)可,終于通過一次偶然的機(jī)會我得到了一個(gè)參與開發(fā)項(xiàng)目的機(jī)會,并作為技術(shù)骨干協(xié)助老師進(jìn)行l(wèi)inux下iptables的模塊開發(fā)。從理論的角度來看這個(gè)模塊開發(fā)可以算做操作系統(tǒng)理論,而我對編寫系統(tǒng)模塊并不是很熟悉,這又是一次挑戰(zhàn).我在一本介紹module programming的書里找到了關(guān)于編寫系統(tǒng)模塊的信息, 憑借我大膽的嘗試,雖然失敗了幾次,但最終成功的實(shí)現(xiàn)了項(xiàng)目的最終目標(biāo),順利的完成了! 失敗是成功之母,我一直堅(jiān)信這一點(diǎn)!

        中國科學(xué)院是引領(lǐng)中國科學(xué)技術(shù)發(fā)展的先鋒,從小我就渴望著有一天能成為其中的一員!大四的那個(gè)夏天我實(shí)現(xiàn)了我的這個(gè)夢想!通過老師的推薦我協(xié)助中科院自動化所的老師們開發(fā)一個(gè)基于生物特征認(rèn)證的接口,雖然只有短短的兩個(gè)星期,但我從中受益匪淺. 通過與實(shí)驗(yàn)室專家教授的溝通, 以及在圖書館里查閱相關(guān)文獻(xiàn),我將整個(gè)BIOAPI的接口規(guī)范,類和數(shù)據(jù)結(jié)構(gòu)的設(shè)計(jì),以及對生物接口的理念進(jìn)行了深入了解。最終利用C++編寫除了初步的與該實(shí)驗(yàn)室應(yīng)用上的接口.成功后的喜悅不言而喻.

        我刻苦學(xué)習(xí),認(rèn)真的工作態(tài)度得到了中科院老師的欣賞,當(dāng)我在本科的最后階段我被中科院的老師推薦到他們的軟件所中文信息實(shí)驗(yàn)室進(jìn)行畢業(yè)設(shè)計(jì).我參與的是一個(gè)研究生的課題,中文博客搜索引擎。、

        做為assistant. 在這個(gè)過程中我完成了對blog數(shù)據(jù)的抓取和存儲,采用的有C語言,perl語言,mysql數(shù)據(jù)庫。通過自學(xué)和向師兄請教又學(xué)到了很多的新技術(shù)和知識,最終完成了一個(gè)博客搜索引擎的框架。

        當(dāng)我完成了大學(xué)的學(xué)習(xí)后,我接受了新浪網(wǎng)工作的OFFER。在這里我主要負(fù)責(zé)操作系統(tǒng)的批量安裝、軟件包定制以及安全配置,以及線上設(shè)備的正常運(yùn)行,各種軟硬件故障的檢測和恢復(fù)。同時(shí)負(fù)責(zé)各種突發(fā)事件的響應(yīng)與及時(shí)處理。還負(fù)責(zé)將整個(gè)公司數(shù)千臺服務(wù)器和網(wǎng)絡(luò)設(shè)備等的配置信息進(jìn)行精確維護(hù)。

        在新浪做為系統(tǒng)工程師.在這里做的事情很多.有應(yīng)用程序方面的、操作系統(tǒng)方面的、網(wǎng)絡(luò)方面的,還有各種硬件方面的.采用的技術(shù)和理論也涉及以上各類.平時(shí)遇到的技術(shù)問題主要是通過自己的判斷思考和實(shí)踐,結(jié)合其他專業(yè)文獻(xiàn)以及自己所學(xué)的專業(yè)知識加以解決。

        幾年的工作經(jīng)歷給我最大的感受就是我清醒的認(rèn)識到自己的不足,我現(xiàn)在的水平舉例我的目標(biāo)-成為專業(yè)領(lǐng)域的專家,相距甚遠(yuǎn).我不能在坐在自己的成績上幻想了,我要超越我自己,在技術(shù)方面我有著太多的缺陷需要彌補(bǔ),我相信我現(xiàn)在需要深入細(xì)致的學(xué)習(xí)研究和找到一個(gè)良好的學(xué)術(shù)氛圍。

        Countless dreamers have looked to the sky, their thoughts fixed on flying. The Wright brothers’ powered flight initiated men into a realization of that dream. I, too, found myself with a very personal and enthusiastic dream of flying as a boy. As a participant in a model plane tournament in elementary school, I found the joy of making a model plane and tinkering with it to find the perfect form. This boyhood pastime fostered my decision to major in aeronautical and mechanical engineering in one of the best engineering schools in Korea, Hankuk Aviation University.
