Everyone has a dream. Now I'll talk about my dream i What is my dream? I often ask myself. When I was a little boy, I wanted to be a soldier with a gun so that I could defend our motherland. Now I am a young boy with a new dream——to be a doctor. I want to be a famous doctor, helping the sick and saving their lives. Why has my dream changed? Well, at the age of 11 I was ill, badly ill. I was told that I had cancer. I had to leave both my school and my friends and go to the hospital. Every day I suf-fered the troubles caused by this illness. I also saw some people who were suffering and dying of ill-nesses. I made up my mind to become a doctor, so that I can help the sick people and cure them of their diseases. China is a develop-ing country. She needs good medicine and good doctors, especially in the countryside and lonely villages. I want to try my best to help the poor sick people of our country. I want to let them have an opportunity to receive excel-lent treatments for their illnesses without having to pay much or any money. I'll do every bit to cure the incurable. I hope to see a world where there is no cancer, no Aids, no fatal diseases. I'm confident that through the joint efforts of you and me, man will put an end to his bodily sufferings and this dream of mine will one day be brought into reality.

Every one has his own dream. When I was a little kid ,my dream was even to have a candy shop of my own .But now ,when I am 16 years old ,standing here ,my dreams have already changed a lot.

I have got quite different experience from other girls. While they were playing toys at home, while they were dreaming to be the princesses in the story .I was running in the hard rain, jumping in the heavy snow, pitching in the strong wind.Nothing could stop me ,because of a wonderful call from my heart -- to be an athlete.Yeah ,of course ,I'm an athlete,I'm so proud of that all the time . When I was 10 years old ,I became a shot-put athlete. The training was really hard ,I couldn't bear the heavy shot in my hands .But I always believe that god only help those who help themselves.During those hard days,I find I was growing more quickly than others of the same age.To be an athlete is my most correct choice. But,I quit my team after entering high school because of a silly excuse.I really didn't want to stop my sports career anyway. Today I say to you my friends that even though I must face the difficulties of yesterday ,today and tomorrow .I still have a dream .It is a dream deeply rooted in my soul. I have a dream that one day ,I can run, jump and pitch just like I used to be. I have a dream that one day , I can go back to my dream sports and join the national team. I have a dream that one day ,I can stand on the hig.

I am grateful for the opportunity to deliver my speech here after 7-days’ preparation with my friend Jinly. Thanks to Jinly’s strong support in our work. I think it is my way of saying thank you to you that giving an excellent presentation to all my friends here. The subject of our presentation is “YOUR DREAM & YOUR GOAL”. During the next 10 minutes, we’ll give you a brief explanation of these stuff at the best of our knowledge. First of all, I’d like to spent 3 or 5 minutes on discussing about the dream. When we were 5, they asked us what we want to be when we grow up. We answered like superman, princess, or in my case, a sailor moon. When we were 10, again they asked and the answer was policemen, doctors and some other high-principled jobs. But unfortunately, we finally found our dreams unrealistic as we entered a not-so-good high school, did not-so-good school works and went to a not-so-good direction in our life. I guess, many of you have thought about changing your dreams, but finally felt at a loss again. Yep! We’re adults and they are waiting for a serious answer. Well, how about this? WHO THE HELL KNOWS! Dream is only a dream. It’s unnecessary for us to think over our dreams all day long. You know, dreams always change, and this is not the time to make difficult decisions. But what do dreams do? Why do we still have an urgent need of dreams? Think about it: do you have had a time when you were full of happiness just because you have made an achievement that pushes you a bit to your dream? Do you have had a time when you insist on what you were doing even the tears keep falling from your eyes? That is the power from dreams! May I equate the faith and the dream here? As we all know, aims and dreams are far from each other to some extent but close to each other on the other hand. Just like the parabola and the number line in mathematics. But it is the dream that help us to map out our aim and work out plans one after another in our life. Just like what Howard Schultz, the founder of the Starbuck said, Dreams are like the stars----we never reach them, but like mariners, we chart our course by them. And I believe that if you have a dream and make efforts step by step, some of you may extremely finish the quantitative change on the way to success and reach the qualitative change! I would like to finish my part by a tongue twister: Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not. Whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot. We'll weather the weather whether we like it or not. Whatever you dreams are and however difficult it is to realize them. Reach your aim step by step and I believe your dreams will extremely come into truth! Thank you for your lending an attentive ear to my point of view. Let’swelcome Jinly and she will talk about the goal, which is the other part of our presentation, during the next 5 minutes. Forgive my stupid words and it’s my pleasure to answer any of your questions after class! You have been a very attentive audience, thank you!

thirty college students across the country attended the tenth 21st century cup national english speaking contest in beijing on april 10. eventually, xia peng, from nanjing university was named the champion. the second and third places went to zhang jing, a sophomore from china foreign affairs university, and zhang a xu, from hong kong polytechnic university, respectively. more than 1000 college students in beijing are lucky birds to listen to the speeches on the spot in friendship hotel. just make to it the finals, they had to get past 60 others speaking on “the impact of globalization on traditional chinese values”. that was at the semi-final on april 8-9. what will chinese college students think about the impact? each contestant had his own take on the subject. xia summed up globalization by saying: “it’s just controversial and hard to say whether it is good or bad.” xia took the old wall of his city, nanjing, as a metaphor. he spoke about the conflict over whether to protect the old walls or tear them down to represent the conflict of ideas. he suggested that people protect the wall as a valuable relic while tearing down the “intangible walls” of their minds that prevent communication. while some other students are more focusing on the impact of globalization on family relations, attitudes towards love, and job-hunting. over the past 10 years, the national english speaking competition has given contestants a chance to speak on a variety of topics closely related to their lives. chinese students become more open-minded and receive various ideas and thinking over the decade. diversity becomes more obvious on campus, students have more opportunities to express and show themselves. it’s not an easy task for the contestants to win through the fierce competition. owning to their passion, hard work and persistence, they finally succeeded in the contest. liu xin, the first champion of the national contest, is now an anchorperson of cctv-9. recalling the passion of study on campus, she said: “when you want to express your idea by a foreign language without finding a right way, you’re really upset. then you have to encourage yourself, and after a long term of bitterness, suddenly you find you get the right way with joy.” with the champion title in 21st century cup, liu attended the international public speaking competition in london in may 1996 afterward and got the first prize historically.the winner in surprised the audience, since she came from accounting major instead of english major. gu qiubei, then 22 years old, was a senior in shanghai foreign studies university. while being asked whether she had some good methods to learn english, she said: “l(fā)earn english with passion and enthusiasm.” attracted by the greatness of english language, gu even changed her major from accounting to english in her postgraduate study. the most important issue in english learning process she pointed out is personal interests. only people interested in english benefit a lot from the learning methods and those with passion will finally achieve their dreams. when chief of global media giant viacom sumner redstone gave a speech in tsinghua university on his autobiography a passion to win, he was asked what made him to restart his career at the age of 60, the 81-year-old media tycoon said: “firstly, there’s a self-driving force in my deep heart, which keeps my passion to succeed and surpass others; secondly, i don’t think i’m too old to leave work, actually i love my work very much.” some of the contestants have achieved their dreams as redstone; still others are on the way to their dream. with a passion to win, you will overcome obstacles and succeed at the end. i’m studying in a city that’s famous for its walls. people who visit my city are amazed at the imposing sight of its walls, especially when silhouetted against the setting sun with gold, shining streaks. the old, cracked bricks are covered with lichens and the walls are weather-beaten guards standing still for centuries. our ancestors liked to build walls. they built walls in beijing, xi’an, nanjing and many other cities, and they built the great wall, which snakes across half our country. they built walls to protect against enemies and evil spirits. this tradition has survived to this day: we still have many parks and schools walled off from the public. for a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world to me. my perceptions, however, changed after i made a hiking trip to the eastern suburbs of my city. my classmates and i were walking with some foreign students. as we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by tall trees, which formed a wide canopy above our heads. suddenly one foreign student asked me, “where is the entrance to the eastern suburbs?” “we’re already in the eastern suburbs,” i replied. he seemed taken aback, “i thought you chinese had walls for everything.” his remark set off a heated debate. at one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while i insisted that the eastern suburbs were one of the many places in china that had no walls.that debate had no winners, but i did learn a lot from this student. for instance, he told me that some major universities like oxford and cambridge were not surrounded by walls. i have to admit that we do have many walls in china, and as we develop our country, we must look carefully at them and decide whether they are physical or intangible. we will keep some walls but tear down those that impede our development. let me give another example.

a year ago, when i was working on a term paper, i needed a book on business law and found a copy in the law school library. however, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “you can’t borrow this book, you’re not a student here.” in the end, i had to spend 200 yuan to buy a copy. meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf. at the beginning of this semester, i heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn’t be repeated. barriers would be replaced by bridges. an inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. with globalization and china integrated into the world, i believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down. i know that globalization is a controversial issue, and it is hard to say whether it is good or bad. but one thing is for sure: it draws our attention to china’s tangible and intangible walls and forces us to examine their role in the modern world. and how about the ancient walls of mine and other cities? should we tear them down? definitely not. my city, like beijing and other cities, is actually making a great effort to preserve the walls. these walls attract historians, archaeologists, and many schoolchildren who are trying to study our history and cultural heritage. walls have become bridges to our past and to the rest of the world. if the ancient builders of these walls were still alive today, they would be proud to see such great changes in the role of their walls. they are now bridges that link east and west, south and north, and all countries of the world. our cultural heritage will survive globalization.

Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for (= what will happen to) me. When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job. Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “future”, I think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future. How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

The world changed when James Watt invented the first steam engine, when Isaac Newton discovered the universal gravitation after hit by an apple, when Karl Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto, when Chairman Mao solemnly declared the establishment of the People's Republic of China on the Tian'anmen Rostrum, when Martin Luther King cried out “I have a dream”. The world was changed by something called dream, which is invisible, untouchable but strong enough. I can assure that every child have written a composition titled My Dream. They have already written down their longing for the future. Some of them want to become scientists; some of them hope to become teachers or doctors. Maybe they didn’t know how many difficulties they will face before their dream come true. But the dreams are like small seeds planted in their ♥ like the beacon in the sea that lead them to their destinations. Dream is the fountain of strength. Dream is the support of faith. Dream is the Polaris. Dream reminds us to move forward, to struggle, to strive all the time. One of my friends told me that dream will never discard anyone! Yes, maybe one day everything is gone but dreams is still there with you, eternally. Dream changed us, and therefore we changed the world. It is dream that refreshes the world every day. It is also dream that makes the world improve day by day. We dare to dream. We can also achieve our dreams and change the world. I can’t imagine the world without dreams. How about you?

Very happy and we feel we are one together - young teachers heroic feelings, My name is Ling, graduation Yidu teacher. I was crying my choice too, have work for me sad too, because I embarked on a career like I did not do a very poor teacher, I cry many times my choice, they can In countless grief I have been comforted, when I saw both of that is full of naive, but eager to swim in the ocean of knowledge a child, my sinking, floating calm the mind, and slowly I also learn from practice feel the teacher's pride, he was like a Spring Silkworms, like the dedication of their own candles no regrets, I have seen it countless teachers no regrets。

and with their youth and lives to defend the sanctity of the teaching profession, but also what they use their own actions, with traces of life, inspired by those of us who come after, I have reluctantly enamel reluctantly, by the reluctance to wholeheartedly love this job, because I have seen that life will go beyond the utilitarian, although meals for life, But the living is not for eating, living in the possession of many small minded, short-term birth in eternity, while the teachers are such a career. I know that a teacher tired, bitter, but to their own ideal, I still would like to pursue, to the surging waves of fighting, to sinister mountain climbing, there may be storms, a storm, the road may be bumpy, but I still would use laughter, with songs to fill ups and downs, I will meet with the merry laughter of the rising sun, I will be flying the heart to face my work and life.
