----the first day i work for the 2008 olympics
i woke up and looked at my watch. oh my god, it’s 7:30 already! i have to get up at once otherwise i’ll be late. today i’ll take the australian athletes as a tour guide around beijing, and i’m going to be the interpreter at the beijing olympic games opening
nervous but, of course, very excited. here goes my plan for today: well, our first destination is, surely, the landmark of beijing, the symbol of the 5000 years’ civilization—the forbidden city—
the second place we are going to is the great wall. this is the only building, i hear, that can been seen from the moon, and it represents the diligence and the wisdom of whole chinese nation.now, it’s time for lunch. we plan to havewhatyou after visiting those historical places, you’ll surely be
impressed by the long-lasting history of our great country. at the same time, during the journey of moving from one place of interest to another, we won’t miss having a glance of beijing’s modern
civilization. the skyscrapers, beautiful avenues and advanced
facilities must also catch your eyes. and we’ll also have a chance to experience beijing’s fast development in person. we’ll do some shopping at the shopping center near the olympics village. you can buy everything there of course except guns and drugs which are

現(xiàn)在是2008年，我已經(jīng)成為一名成功的翻譯。今天我要帶領(lǐng)來自澳大利亞的olympics運(yùn)動(dòng)員們游覽北京。明天我將在2008年北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)開幕式上擔(dān)任同聲翻譯，這曾是我多年的夢(mèng)想，現(xiàn)在它終于實(shí)現(xiàn)了。面對(duì)今天和明天的工作，我當(dāng)然有些緊張，但也很興奮，以下是我今天的計(jì)劃。
我們的第一站就是北京的標(biāo)志建筑，中華五千年歷史文化的象征——紫禁
城，它是明朝和清朝帝王們的居所。為了迎接北京奧運(yùn)，它最近已被修繕一新。 我們要去的第二個(gè)地方是天壇，這是我聽說過的唯一一座能在月球上直接看得到的地球建筑，它是中華民族勤勞與智慧的結(jié)晶。
午餐時(shí)間，我們的目的地是全聚德餐廳，大家將會(huì)品嘗到世界上最美味的中國(guó)食品——北京烤鴨。然后我將帶大家參觀頤和園，這曾是清朝皇族們的避暑勝地。
通過參觀這些歷史性的`建筑，相信大家一定會(huì)對(duì)中國(guó)源遠(yuǎn)流長(zhǎng)的歷史文化留下深刻的印象，同時(shí)大家還將親自體驗(yàn)現(xiàn)代北京的高速發(fā)展，相信這些摩天大樓、時(shí)尚的大道以及先進(jìn)的設(shè)施也一定會(huì)吸引大家的眼睛，眼見為實(shí)，大家的所見所聞一定會(huì)更有力的證明了大家當(dāng)初對(duì)中國(guó)北京的選擇和信賴。
