　　To whom it may concern,

　　I shall be gratified if my application for the position of part-time translator,or other related positions, can be accepted.

　　Being a keen language learner and a translation major, I have acquired impressive English skills through extensive on- and off-class practice. I believe that acquaintance with a certain language does not necessarily indicate competence in translation career; majoring in translation and intepreting, I am convinced that is, to a certain extend, where my competitive edge lies in.

　　A junior university student as I am, I have already translated a total of over 50,000 words of materials, covering varying subjects such as literature, science and technology, politics, tourism, finance, and so forth, all of which I have done a myriad of researches on and thus accumulated knowledges of dealing with materials of diverse styles and subjects. During my internship in a company’s export department last summer, I also did some interpretation for my manager, who is not a native Chinese speaker, and was praised for my proficiency in spoken English.
