There was once a lonely girl who longed so much for love. One day while she was walking in the woods she found two starving songbirds. She took them home and put them in a small cage. She cared them with love and the birds grew strong. Every morning they greeted her with a wonderful song. The girl felt great love for the birds.
One day the girl left the door to the cage open. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew from the cage. The girl was so frightened that he would fly away. As he flew close, she grasped him wildly. Her heart felt glad at her success in capturing him. Suddenly she felt the bird go limp. She opened her hand and stared in horror at the dead bird. Her desperate love had killed him.
She noticed the other bird moving back and forth on the edge of the cage. She could feel his great need for freedom. He needed to soar into the clear, blue sky. She lifted him from the cage and tossed him softly into the air. The bird circled once, twice, three times.
The girl watched delightedly at the bird's enjoyment. Her heart was no longer concerned with her loss. She wanted the bird to be happy. Suddenly the bird flew closer and landed softly on her shoulder. It sang the sweetest melody that she had ever heard.
The fastest way to lose love is to hold on it too tight, the best way to keep love is to give it WINGS!

她注意到另一只鳥(niǎo)兒在籠邊撲閃著翅膀。她可以感覺(jué)到它對(duì)自由的無(wú)限向往。它渴望沖向明凈的藍(lán)天。她將它舉起，輕輕拋向空中。鳥(niǎo)兒盤(pán)旋了一圈，兩圈，三圈。
看到鳥(niǎo)兒快樂(lè)的樣子，女孩很高興。她的內(nèi)心不再計(jì)較自己的得失。她希望鳥(niǎo)兒幸福。突然，鳥(niǎo)兒飛近了，輕輕落在她的肩上，唱起了她從未聽(tīng)過(guò)的最動(dòng)人的歌。
失去愛(ài)的方法，最快莫過(guò)于將其牢牢地抓在手心；令?lèi)?ài)長(zhǎng)駐的方法，最好莫過(guò)于賦予它一雙翅膀——將愛(ài)放飛！
好的英語(yǔ)是讀出來(lái)的！
學(xué)習(xí)任何語(yǔ)言都需要大量閱讀。學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)也需要大量閱讀。英語(yǔ)學(xué)得好的人，一般說(shuō)來(lái)，都讀過(guò)相當(dāng)數(shù)量的書(shū)；反之，也只有讀得比較多的人，才能真正學(xué)好英語(yǔ)。這個(gè)道理雖然簡(jiǎn)單，但不少學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的人卻未必明白。時(shí)下，很多人都熱衷于做題目，以為這是學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的正確途徑。結(jié)果做的練習(xí)冊(cè)一本又一本，試題集一套又一套，做得頭昏眼花，興趣全無(wú)，英語(yǔ)水平卻并沒(méi)有實(shí)質(zhì)性提高。
學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的確要做適當(dāng)練習(xí)。但我認(rèn)為，歸根結(jié)底，好的英語(yǔ)是“讀”出來(lái)的，不是做練習(xí)“做”出來(lái)的。“讀”出來(lái)的英語(yǔ)是地道的、自然的，因?yàn)槭褂谜咭莱值氖恰罢Z(yǔ)感”；“做”出來(lái)的英語(yǔ)往往流于生硬，因?yàn)槭褂谜呤且蕾?lài)“語(yǔ)法規(guī)則”硬“做”的。
一談到閱讀，人們便不由自主地想到“苦讀”。如果把這兩個(gè)字理解成讀書(shū)需要花功夫，倒也有理。但如果認(rèn)為閱讀一定是很苦的，很少有歡樂(lè)，那就大錯(cuò)特錯(cuò)了。然而，目前的很多英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者都視英語(yǔ)閱讀為苦事，常常是不得已而為之。教師讓學(xué)生讀點(diǎn)英語(yǔ)材料，就像給孩童吃中藥，需要捏著鼻子硬灌下去。自然效果也不會(huì)好。
閱讀英語(yǔ)應(yīng)當(dāng)輕松愉快，也可以輕松愉快。要做到這一點(diǎn)，閱讀材料的選擇是首要的。也就是說(shuō)，要選擇生動(dòng)、有趣、富有吸引力而又能啟發(fā)心智的材料（或書(shū)籍）。這類(lèi)書(shū)具有以下幾個(gè)共同特點(diǎn)：一、可讀性很強(qiáng)，讓人立即產(chǎn)生閱讀的欲望，一旦上手，就放不下來(lái)了，不會(huì)感到學(xué)英語(yǔ)是沉重的負(fù)擔(dān)了。二、容易讀，不大會(huì)產(chǎn)生閱讀障礙。三、有助于擴(kuò)大知識(shí)面，提高文化素養(yǎng)。
至于閱讀的方法，我主張一口氣讀下去，即便有個(gè)別單詞擋道，只要不影響整體內(nèi)容的理解，就不必停下來(lái)查詞典，更沒(méi)有必要見(jiàn)到好句子停下來(lái)就抄。因?yàn)槟菢訒?huì)打斷思路，影響閱讀速度，甚至扼殺閱讀的興趣。不要以為讀完一本書(shū)沒(méi)有記下某個(gè)詞語(yǔ)或某個(gè)句子就是一無(wú)所得。閱讀的主要目的在于語(yǔ)言吸收上的“潛移默化”，在于獲得語(yǔ)感。閱讀需要“量”，沒(méi)有大量的語(yǔ)言“輸入”，是難以學(xué)好英語(yǔ)的。而我們國(guó)內(nèi)的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者恰恰語(yǔ)言輸入量太少，當(dāng)然輸出量就更少。結(jié)果往往事倍功半。
好文共享---飄忽的浮云 Clouds
I've opened the curtain of my east window here above the computer, and I sit now in a holy theater before a sky-blue stage. A little cloud above the neighbor's trees resembles Jimmy Durante's nose for a while, then becomes amorphous as it slips on north. Other clouds follow, big and little and tiny on their march toward whereness. Wisps of them lead or droop because there must always be leading and drooping.
The trees seem to laugh at the clouds while yet reaching for them with swaying branches. Trees must think that they are real, rooted, somebody, and that perhaps the clouds are only tickled water which sometimes blocks their sun. But trees are clouds, too, of green leaves—clouds that only move a little. Trees grow and change and dissipate like their airborne cousins.
And what am I but a cloud of thoughts and feelings and aspirations? Don't I put out tentative mists here and there? Don't I occasionally appear to other people as a ridiculous shape of thoughts without my intending to? Don't I drift toward the north when I feel the breezes of love and the warmth of compassion?
If clouds are beings, and beings are clouds, are we not all well advised to drift, to feel the wind tucking us in here and plucking us out there? Are we such rock-hard bodily lumps as we imagine?
Drift, let me. Sing to the sky, will I. One in many, are we. Let us breathe the breeze and find therein our roots in the spirit.
I close the curtain now, feeling broader, fresher. The act is over. Applause is sweeping through the trees.
拉開(kāi)了房間東邊電腦上方的窗簾，感覺(jué)自己仿佛身處一個(gè)神圣的`劇場(chǎng)，天藍(lán)的舞臺(tái)展現(xiàn)在面前。有好一會(huì)兒，鄰居家樹(shù)叢上飄著一朵像杰米·杜蘭特那大鼻子形狀的云朵，但漸漸云朵就往北飄移，大鼻子也就散了狀。周?chē)脑疲蟮摹⑿〉摹⒍↑c(diǎn)兒的都隨之往不知什么地方飄走了。縷縷白云或前行，或散去，這最自然不過(guò)了。
樹(shù)梢隨風(fēng)輕擺，像往上攀附云朵，也像在嘲笑云朵。樹(shù)肯定在想自己才是實(shí)實(shí)在在、穩(wěn)穩(wěn)扎根的重量級(jí)人物，而云朵只不過(guò)是積聚的水珠，只會(huì)偶爾擋住太陽(yáng)的光輝。其實(shí)樹(shù)也是一種云，是綠葉做的云，是不怎么動(dòng)的云。樹(shù)會(huì)成長(zhǎng)、變化、老去，就跟天空的浮云一樣。
我不也是一朵云嗎？一朵懷著種種想法、感受和抱負(fù)的云。我不是也到處作嘗試，制造一個(gè)個(gè)霧團(tuán)嗎？我的那些異想天開(kāi)不也常不經(jīng)意地在人面前變成了一團(tuán)奇形怪狀的云嗎？在感受到愛(ài)的微風(fēng)和憐憫的溫暖時(shí)，我不也像一朵朝北暢快游走的浮云嗎？
若浮云如人，人亦如浮云，我們是否都應(yīng)該飄，感受風(fēng)的力量，讓我們一時(shí)扎根這里，一時(shí)又把我們拔起吹走？難道我們真的就如自己想像中的那樣穩(wěn)如磐石嗎？
飄吧，讓我！向天高歌，我要。人海里的過(guò)客，我們是。就讓我們一起呼吸微風(fēng)的氣息，在其中尋找我們精神的根。
合上窗簾，感覺(jué)心胸更開(kāi)闊，頭腦更清晰。帷幕降下，樹(shù)叢間掌聲雷動(dòng)。
