Dick lived in England. One day in January he said to his wife, "I'm going to fly to New York next week because I've got some work there." "Where are you going to stay there?" his wife asked. "I don't know yet." Dick answered. "Please send me your address from there in a telegram," his wife said. "All right," Dick answered.

In the morning, we went camping along a path in Green Natural Park. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were expecting an enjoyable two - day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes.

However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o’clock, it was dark and windy. Soon, there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide.

Twenty minutes passe d and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we reached the camp site (營地). It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went to the wrong way. We had lost our way!

We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we were unable to light the fire, as everything was wet. We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o’clock, it stopped raining. We decide to give up the camping trip because all of us had been very tired.

This camping trip may not be very successful but we know each other better. And the most important thing I’ve learned from this trip is the importance of team spirit.

The world itself is becoming much smaller by using modern traffic and modern communication means. Life today is much easier than it was hundreds of years ago, but it has brought new problems. One of the biggest is pollution. To pollute means to make things dirty. Pollution comes in many ways. We see it, smell it, drink it and even hear it.

Man has been polluting the earth. The more people, the more pollution. Many years ago, the problem was not so serious because there were not so many people. When the land was used up or the river was dirty in one place, many moved to another place. But this is no longer true. Man is now slowly polluting the whole world.

Air pollution is still the most serious. It’s bad for all living things in the world, but it is not the only one kind of pollution. Water pollution kills our fish and pollutes our drinking water. Noise pollution makes us angry more easily.

Many countries are making rules to fight pollution. They stop people from burning coal (煤) in houses and factories in the city, and from putting dirty smoke into the air.

Pollution by SO2 is now the most dangerous kind of air pollution. It is caused by heavy traffic. If there are less people who drive, we will make our world less polluted.

The earth is our home. We must take care of it. That means keeping the land, water and air clean. And we must take care of the rise in population at the same time.

There have been many6 great inventions that have changed the way we live. the fir st great invention was one that is still very important today - the wheel. This made it easier to carry heavy things and to travel long distances. For hundreds of years after that, there were few inventions that had as much effect as the wheel did.

In the second half of the 19th century, many great inventions were made. among them were the camera, the light and the radio. These are all a big part of our lives today. In the first half of the 20th century, we saw more great inventions. For example, the helicopter in 1909, movies with sound in 1926, the computer in 1928, and jet planes in 1930. This was also a time when a new material was first made. Nylon was made in 1935. It changed the kinds of clothes people wore.

By this time, most people had a very good life. People had a desire to explore the world again. People knew a lot about the earth, but they didn’t know much about the universe. They began looking for ways to go into space. Russia made the first step. Then the United States took the second step. Since then other countries, including China and Japan have done so too.

In 1969, man took his biggest step from the earth. Two Americans walked on the moon. This is certainly just the beginning, too. New inventions will some day allow us to do things we have never yet dreamed of.

One day a man found a cocoon (繭) of a butterfly in the forest. He sat there for several hours and watched the butterfly. Suddenly a small hole appeared, and the butterfly tries to make its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it could not go on coming out.

So the man de cided to help the butterfly. He cut off the rest of the cocoon so that the butterfly could come out easily. But to his surprise, the butterfly got a heavy body and very small wings when it came out of the cocoon.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that the body would grow smaller at any moment and the wings would become larger and be able to fly. But neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling (爬) around with a heavy body and small wings. It was never able to fly.

The man was in his kindness, but he did not understand the nature rules. Before the butterfly came out of the cocoon, fluid (流體) from its body must be made into its wings, and then it would be ready for flying. It must have a hard struggle (拼搏) to get through the small opening to get its freedom (自由) from the cocoon.

If God allowed us to go through our life without any difficulties, it would make us fail. We would not be as strong as we could have been; we could never “fly” in our lif e.

You need 3D glasses to see some films. I think it is easy to make your own 3D glasses instead of buying them.

There are two ways to make 3D glasses. You can decide which way would be easier for you.

The first way seems like the cheaper way but the things needed to make the glasses this way may not be things laying around the house. First print out (打印) a template (模板) for the glasses in http // paperprojext. org / PDF - files / 3dglasses. pdf.

Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the seaside to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his writing. One day he was walking along the seaside. As he looked down the beach, he saw a person moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the young man wasn’t dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean.

As he got closer he called out, “Good morning! What are you doing?”

The young man paused (停止), looked up and replied, “Throwing starfish (海星) into the ocean.”

“The sun is up, and the tide (潮汐) is going out. And if I don’t throw them in time, they’ll die.”

“But, young man, don’t you know there are miles and miles of beach, and starfish are all along it? You can’t possibly make a difference!”

The moon isn’t round on the 15th of August but of the eighth month of Chinese.

The moon is seen because of the reflected (反射) light from the sun. When the moon is between the earth and the sun, we can only see the side of the mon not shone by the sun, except when a solar eclipse (日食) happens. As the moon goes ton around the earth from the west to the east and leave the middle place, we can see the bright part. Its like a letter “C” but is in an opposite directio n. This is called “new moon”. The opposite direction “C” becomes thicker and thicker with the moon moves on. When the earth is between the sun and the moon, because the earth and the moon are not on the same surface, the sunlight isn’t stopped by the earth. At this time, the moon is full, like a round silver plate. And then, it moves on and the part shone by the sun becomes smaller and smaller until it looks like a “C”, which is called “old moon”, And the “C” becomes thinner and thinner until it again moves to the place between the sun and the earth. Then another round begins. Chinese people have a kind of calendar (歷法) according to the movement of the moon called lunar calendar (陰歷), its 15th and 16th day is the time of “full moon”. The fist day of ※ lunar month is the time of the “new moon”, the ending, “old moon”. Usually the beginning of the lunar month is just the middle days of the solar calendar (陽歷,公歷), so never expect to see a bright moon on the 15th day of a solar calendar month.

I was very disappointed not to be able to go to the jazz concert last Friday. The notice in the paper said that people could buy tickets at the theater box office in Richland Hills any day between 10:30 a. m. and 3:00 p. m. Since I work from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m, the only time I could go to the theater was during my 45-minute lunch break. Unluckily, the theater is on the other side of the town, and the bus service between my office and Richland Hills is not very good. But if I am lucky, I can make the round trip in 45 minutes.

Last Monday, I stood at the bus stop for fifteen minutes waiting for the bus. By the time I saw one come around the corner, there was not enough time left to make the trip. So I gave up and went back to the office. The same thing happened on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday. On Thursday, my luck changed. I got on a bus right away. When I got there, however, I found a long line of people at the box office. I heard one man say he had been waiting in line for over an hour. I knew I would not have enough time to wait in line. So I caught the next bus and went back across the town. By Friday I decided to make the trip by taxi. It was expensive, but I felt the concert would be worth hearing. The trip by taxi only took 10 minutes, but it felt like an hour to me. When I got to the theatre, I was relieved to see that nobody was waiting in line. In 2013, IPhone5 came upon the stage of all over the world , which is the 5th generation(代) iphone since the first generation appeared 6 years ago. It is like a real super star and attracts everyone. In fact, iPhone is more than just a phone. It makes many powerful functions in one. that means you can make calls, listen to music , take photos ,check E-mails and do many things you like on your iphone, for over 150 thousand programs can be downloaded in the Apple Store . All that and more makes iphone4 the best phone you’ll ever use.

Different from other traditional mobile phones, you can just find a home button on iphones, Of course, no keyboard can be seen when you don’t need to telephone or send short messages, but when you move your finger on the touchscreen(觸摸屏), the whole world is in your hand!

The touchscreen of the iPhone is based on the technology of Capacitive(電容)screen. When the screen is touched, the charge (電荷) from the human body can affect the charge from the capacitive screen which is behind the surface screen, and pull a small amount of charge of the touch point, creating a voltage(電壓) hill, then the charge from four corners of the capacitive screen runs to the voltage hill. So the CPU can deal with the place you touch. Because of this, capacitive screen can be controlled with very light touches of a finger or even two but generally cannot be used by a gloved hand. Because most gloves stop the necessary charge. This kind of touchscreens is widely used on other Apple’s products such as itouch and ipad.

The day before Father’s Day, Mrs. Rita asked her students to make a card for their fathers. She handed out paper and pieces of cloth.

Maria looked at the blue cloth for a while and began to cut it. Then she folded (折疊) her paper in half and began writing. When Maria finally looked at the message that the teacher gave on the paper, she noticed something else. She felt her face grow hot. She hadn’t heard that anyone who didn’t have a father could make one for a grandfather or an uncle.

As her teacher walked to her, Maria tried covering her card with her ar m, but Mrs. Rita gently lifted it so that she could read it. Maria sat still, waiting for her to say something, but she saw a tear roll (滾落) down Mrs. Rita’s face. She had never made Mrs. Rita so upset.

When school was over, Maria waited until all the other kids left so that she could apologize. “I’m sorry for not listening. I’ll make another card if you want. I’ll do it at home and bring it tomorrow.

“What are you talking about?” asked Mrs. Rita.

“My Father’s Day card. I know you’re unhappy because I didn’t do it right.”

“Maria, it was the best card in the whole class. It was so sweet that it made me cry.”

Maria was so happy that she ran out of the classroom.

When her mom came home from work that night, Maria decided to give her the card early.

On the front of the card was a drawing of Maria’s mom, with a blue piece of cloth cut like her hair. Inside the card she had written:

          Dear Mom,

I know you work really hard to be not only a mommy but a daddy. I want to thank you and wish you a happy Father’s Day!

A learning style is a way of learning. YOUR preferred learning style is the way in which YOU learn best. Three learning styles that are often discovered in students are Type 1 ---the Auditory Learning Style, Type2---the Tactile Learning Style, and Type 3 –the Visual Learning Style.

Type 1: Auditory Learners learn best when information is presented in an auditory language form. Does listening to audio tapes help you learn better? Do you seem to learn best in classes in which special importance is given to teacher lectures and class discussions? Do you find yourself reading aloud or talking things out to get a better understanding? If YES, you are probably an Auditory Learner.

Type 2: Tactile Learners learn best in hands-on learning settings in which they can physically control something in order to learn about it. Do you learn best when you can move about the handle things? Do you do well in classes in which there is a lab part? Do you learn better when you have a real object in your hands rather than a picture of the object or a spoken or written description of it? If YES, you are probably a Tactile Learner.

Type 3: Visual Learners learn best when information is presented in a written language form or in another visual form such as pictures or maps. Do you do best in classes in which teachers do a lot of writing on the blackboard, provide clear handouts(課堂講義), and make wide use of a projector above the head? Do you try to remember information by creating pictures in your mind? Do you take detailed written notes from your textbooks and in class? If YES, you are probably a Visual Learner.

Your learning style is your strength. Go with it whenever you can. When you can choose a class, try to choose one that draws heaviest on your learning style. When you can choose a teacher, try to choose one whose teaching method best matches your learning style. When you choose a major and future career, keep your learning style firmly in mind.

I noticed a poor man walking out of the restaurant in front of me. He held a paper bag with his dirty hand. He walked to a nearby dustbin(垃圾箱) and started looking through it.

The world itself is becoming much smaller by using modern traffic and modern communication means .

When the land was used up or the river was dirty in one place, man moved to another place. But this is no longer true. Man is now slowly polluting the whole world.

Air pollution is still the most serious. It's bad for all living things in the world, but it is not the only one kind of pollution. Water pollution kills our fish and pollutes our drinking water. Noise pollution makes us angry more easily.

Many countries are making rules to fight against pollution. They stop people from burning coal (煤) in houses and factories in the city, and from putting dirty smoke into the air.

Pollution by SO2 is now the most dangerous kind of air pollution. It is caused by heavy traffic. It is sure that if there are fewer people driving, there will be less air pollution.

The earth is our home. We must take care of it. That means keeping the land, water and air clean. And we must take care of the rise in population at the same time.

Years ago, I lived in a building in a large city. The next building only was a few feet away from mine. There was a woman lived there, and I had never met her, yet I could see she sat by her window each afternoon, sewing (縫紉) or reading.

After several months had gone by, I began to notice that her window was dirty. Everything was unclear through the dirty window. I would say to myself. “I wonder why that woman doesn’t wash her window. It really looks terrible.”

One bright morning I decided to clean my flat, including washing the window on the inside.

There was a young man named Bill in England. Before leaving school, he began to look for a job. Few companies needed new clerks due to the financial crisis (金融危機) at that time. It became harder and harder to find a job. Luckily, a chance came up to him. A company wanted to employ (雇用) one person. He and the other twenty people joined in the fist interview (面試).

After that, three persons were allowed to enter the final test which would decide one person to be employed in the end. Bill was lucky to be among them. On the day of the second interview, the interviewer only had a free talk with them, and then asked them to go back home waiting for the result. The next morning, Bill received a letter from the company which said he wasn’t accepted. Certainly, he felt disappointed. On the evening of that day, Bill surprisingly received another letter, which said he was employed. But why was he accepted? As a matter of fact, the first letter sent to Bill was also part of the test. Every one of them got a letter which had the same meaning that morning. Only Bill replied with “Thank you.” while the others said nothing.

Life isn’t all fun. There is always some thing making us unhappy. When you feel disappointed, please say “Thank you” to the person who disappoints you. That shows your great generosity (寬容) and politeness to others. If you do so, you’ll have more chances than others.

First, the cells near the cut get bigger and move into the gap.Next, these bigger cells meet in the middle. They form a new layer(層)of skin cells. Finally, new cells will grow until the gap disappears completely. In this way, your skin Can grow and get well itself.

One day a farmer’s donkey (驢) fell down a well (井). The animal cried for hours as the farmer tried to find a way to get it out. The farm tried a lot of ways, but he failed in the end. Finally, he decided to give up the animals, because the donkey was old, and the well needed to be covered up using the earth (泥土).

He invited all of his neighbors to come over and help him. They all began to fill the well with dirt (污土). The donkey realized what was happening and began to cry. Then it became quiet slowly.

A few minutes later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was surprised at what he saw. With each shovel (鏟) of the dirt that hit its back, the donkey shook it off and took a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbors went on to shovel (用鐵鍬填滿) dirt on top to the animal, it still shook it off and took a step up. Pretty soon, the donkey happily got out.

Life is just like this. The troubles in life are like the dirt. Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. You can get out of the deepest well just by not stopping but never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

A chameleon(變色龍)is a kind of lizard There are more than eighty different species of chameleon. Most of them live in Africa, but there are some species that live in India and the Middle East and one species that lives in Mediterranean(地中海的) countries. The interesting thing about chameleons is that many species can change their color. Some people believe that chameleons change color so that other animals will not be able to see them and attack them, but this is not the case. They usually do so when they are angry or frightened.

Because chameleons can turn their eyes backward, they can look behind them without moving their body or head. They can even have one eye looking forward and one eye looking backward at the same time!

Chameleons are long and thin and vary(變化)in size depending on the species—usually between 4 and 60 centimeters long. They move very slowly and live in trees. They wait for insects(昆蟲) to come by and then shoot out their long tongues, catching the passing insects on the sticky(粘性的) surface. Then the chameleons eat their catch. Large chameleons also eat birds. Chameleons’ tongues move so quickly that people cannot see them.

In some African countries, people are afraid of chameleons because they think they bring bad luck. Many people in Madagascar(馬達加斯加島) believe that anything you do to a chameleon will one day happen to you. For example, if you drive over a chameleon on the road and kill it, soon someone will drive over you and kill you. Because of this, Madagascans are very careful how they behave toward chameleons. In reality, chameleons do not hurt people. They do not bite and they are not poisonous(有毒的), even the larger ones are harmless.

In old times, men thought lightning to be one of the great mysteries of nature. In fact, lightning is electricity(電) formed high above the earth. A single flash of lightning which is 1.6 kilometers long has enough electricity to light one million lamps.

Today, most tall buildings are protected by lightning rods(避雷針). These are metal rods which are placed on top of the highest, most exposed part of the building. A wire leads from the rod and is buried(埋) underground away from the building. This attracts the lightning and passes the lightning into the ground. In 1752, the American scientist, Benjamin Franklin, was the first to suggest that lightning is in fact electricity formed between the earth and clouds high above. In the same year, he also built the first lightning rod to protect buildings from being struck by lightning.

Modern science has discovered that lightning is very strong and powerful. A lightning between a cloud and the earth may be as long as 13 kilometers, and travels at a speed of 30 million meters per second. Scientists have the opinion that there are about 2000 million flashes of lightning per year. In the United States alone, almost every day, it kills almost one person.

Since lightning can be very dangerous and it has killed and hurt many people, it is important for us to follow safety measures and protect ourselves .The safest place to be in during an electrical storm is a closed car. Outside , one should go close to low ground for cover and not stop under a tree. Also one should stay out of water and away from metal fences. Inside a house people should keep away from open doorways and windows and not touch wires(電線) or metal things. When I was in primary school, I had a big argument with a boy in my class. I can’t remember what it was bout, but I have never forgotten the lesson I learned that day.

I was sure that I was right and he was wrong. However, he strongly believed that I was wrong and he was right. The teacher decide to teach us a lesson. She came up with a good idea. She brought both of us to the front of the class and put him on one side of her grey desk and me on the other. In the middle of the desk was a large, round object. It was clear for me to see that it was black. She asked the boy what color the object was. “White,” he answered in a loud voice.

I couldn’t believe that the object was white, considering that it was certainly black! One more argument started between the boy and me, this time about the color of the object.

The teacher told me to go stand where the boy was standing and told him to come stand where I had been. We changed places, and then she asked me what the color of the object was. I had to answer, “White.” It was then than I knew what was wrong. It was an object with two differently colored sides, and from his side it was white. Only from my side it was black.

My teacher taught me a very important lesson that day: You must stand in another person’s position and look at the situation through their eyes in order to truly understand their ideas.

As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger as well as success.

Scientists have found out that radiation(輻射)is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health. The damage(危害)done by radiation won’t be discovered until their children or ever grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really helpful medicine has been found so far.

Space junk(垃圾) is also thought a great danger go spacemen. It’s reported that there are 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites(衛星),10% are spaceships, and the rest are space junk. An explosion(爆炸) in 1996 made a cloud of 300,000 fragments, each at least 4mm in size, and even a small piece of these knocked against a spaceship window and did some damage. Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working on helpful ways to do with space junk.

Although space is really dangerous, it interests everyone on the earth. In the near future, it may become usual for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space in a few years. So we should care for space and do something to help improve the space environment.

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town. He said he had the most beautiful heart. A crowd came together to admire his heart. Suddenly, an old man appeared and said, “Why, my heart is more beautiful.” Everyone looked at the old man’s heart. It was full of scars (疤痕).

The young man laughed. “But my heart is perfect and yours is full of scars.” “Yes,” said the old man. “Yours looks perfect but I would never change my heart for yours. You see, every scar stands for a person who I have given my love to. I tear out (撕下) a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart that fits into the empty place in my heart. Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn’t returned a piece of his or her heart to me. These are the empty parts – giving love is taking a chance. Although these parts are painful, they stay open. They cause me to think of the love I have for those people, too. So now do you see what true beauty is?” The young man walked to the old man, reached into his perfect heart, and cut a piece off. He gave it to the old man. The old man put it in his heart, then took a piece from his old heart full of scars and put it in the wound (傷口) in the young man’s heart. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect any more but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man’s heart flowed (流淌) into his.

We wanted to know what kids were eating, so we asked 959 boys and girls to tell us. Their answers show that many of them are trying hard to eat healthily. How? By eating fruits, vegetables, and good-for-you drinks, like milk, water and l00%fruit juice. The fruits and vegetables contain vitamins, minerals and fiber. Let’s take a closer look at the results from the survey.

A science teacher wants to show some idea to his students. He takes a large mouth bottle and places several large stones in it. He then asks the class, “Is the bottle full now?” They all reply, “Yes!”

The teacher then takes some small rocks and puts them into the bottle. The small rocks go into the spaces between the big rocks. He then asks, “Is it full?” This time some students give no answer, but most reply, “Yes!” The teacher then starts to drop some sand into the bottle. The sand fills up the spaces between the small rocks. For the third time, the teacher asks, “Is it full?” Now most are doubting, but still, some reply, “Yes!”

Then the teacher brings out a cup of water into the bottle. “What’s the point of this show?” asks the teacher. One bright student answers, “No matter how busy you are, you can always find time to do some more things.”

There are a lot of interesting things living in the sea. There are many types of fish and many other animals. There are also many types of plants. There are even some animals which have a lot in common with you. They are mammals living in the sea. How much do you know about creatures that live in the sea? Do you want to know more about the food chain(鏈)in the sea?

In the sea, all sea creatures get food from other sea creatures. At the first link of the food chain are the sea plants and plankton(浮游生物). Plants are found only in the sunlight zon e where there is enough light for them, however, animals are found at all depths of the oceans though their numbers are greater near the surface where food is enough. Many kinds of fish and animals, such as the snail, shrimp, jellyfish(蝸牛, 蝦, 水母), and sea star eat the plankton. The small animals and fish who eat plankton then become food for larger fish, such as the tuna and mackerel(金槍魚 和鯖魚). These fish are then eaten by larger fish and animals, such as the shark and dolphin. The shark and dolphin are at the top of the food chain in the sea. Sharks are very dangerous so many people are eaten by them in the sea.

But why the number of the shark is becoming smaller and smaller? And who eats the shark? Check out the menu at a seafood restaurant next time you are eating there. Don't be surprised if you find shark on the menu.

One day John with his father went to the store. His father bought him a jack – knife. John went outside to wait for father and to admire his new knife in the sunlight. Some boys came by and saw him. They surrounded (包圍) him and called John names. The largest of these boys pushed John back. John dropped his knife and one of them picked it up and they all ran away laughing. John came to his grandfather Cherokee and said to him, “I hate them. I hate them all.”

Grandfather said, “Hate makes you down and doesn’t hurt your enemy. It is like drinking poison (毒藥) and wishing your enemy would die. We have struggled (斗爭) with these feelings many times. It is as if two wolves are inside us. It is a terrible fight. One wolf is good and does no harm. It will only fight when it is right to do so and in the right way. This wolf stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, kindness, truth, and faith. The other wolf is full of anger. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so much. It is helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing. This wolf stands for fear, envy, self – pity, life, untrue, pride. Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside us, for both of them try to control our spirit. This same fight is going on inside us and inside every other person, too.” The boy looked into his grandfather’s eyes and asked, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

We learn about the world through our five senses (感覺): hearing, sight, touch, smell, and taste. Hearing helps us learn from each other through talks. The sense of sight helps us know each other and learn about color, movement and distance. And touch helps us learn about our world by feeling it and learning the size and shape of things. The sense of smell helps us to enjoy life and helps us learn about unsafe conditions. Taste helps us, among other things, to choose and enjoy food.

Let’s know more about the sense of sight. There are many parts to our eyes, and each one of them helps us to see. The light goes in through an opening called the pupil (瞳孔). That's the black point in the center of the eye. The colored part around the pupil can change the size of the opening, letting in more or less light. The lens (晶狀體)focuses the light on the retina(視網膜); the cornea(角膜) protects the lens. The eye works like a camera, and all parts of the eye must work together as a team. The cornea, the clear, film-like part of the eye, is the leader. When light enters the dark pupil of the eye, the cornea bends it. And then the light travels to the lens behind the pupil. The light passes through the lens of the eye and is 'recorded' on the back of eyes - the retina. The eye sends the picture to the brain(大腦), and the brain turns the picture the right way up and tells us what we are looking at. So we see things the right way up.

Our senses are the way we find out about the world we live in. We learn with our senses.
