求學(xué)如求職，Cover Letter的功用也如求知中的自薦信一樣，隨打包材料一道寄送給學(xué)校招生辦。主要作用如下：

禮貌問候，表達(dá)興趣
簡單自我介紹
本科申請不建議做自我引薦，簡單一兩句話說明自己是誰就可以;研究生申請，可以做一個(gè)簡要自我引薦，但其實(shí)也無必要，Cover Letter最好不要超過1頁。
